When you approach a bag factory with a new product idea, you will be asked a simple question: OEM or ODM? The two terms describe very different ways of working with a manufacturer, and choosing the right model saves you time, money and risk.
OEM: your design, their factory
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) means you bring the design, specifications and materials direction, and the factory manufactures to your exact requirements. This is the right choice when you have a mature product, a brand identity to protect, or specific performance requirements that an existing product line cannot meet.
ODM: their design, your brand
ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) means the factory offers an existing, proven product design that you can rebrand and customize — colors, materials, logos and packaging. This is faster and usually lower in development cost, ideal for launching a first product line or testing a new market.
How the process works at Bontex
Whichever model you choose, a typical project follows the same stages: requirement confirmation, material selection, sampling, production and quality inspection. Bontex has manufactured textile products for 33 years and supports both routes, with quantity pricing starting at 50 pieces (tiers 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000) and shipments FOB Yantian.
